A Villa Built by Many Hands

This villa on the southwest coast of Mallorca is the result of an exceptional collaboration — architecture, interiors, landscape, and lighting each developed by dedicated specialists working toward a single coherent vision.

The architecture by García Ruiz Architecture and Manuel Vera Salas anchors the house in its site: Mallorcan dry-stone cladding meets Crittall steel glazing across the entire entrance facade, a 20-metre grade change resolved by Studio Terraforma into a series of terraced gardens that descend from the bouldered hillside to the pool level. The landscape reads as an extension of the geology — wild cistus, ancient olive trees, and native grasses planted by Jardins Tramuntana softening every stone edge.

The interiors by Elena Munar hold the Mediterranean light with restraint. A floor-to-ceiling fractured stone fireplace anchors the living room beneath painted timber beams. The dining room centres on a sculptural wire chandelier, its sea view framed through a wall of Crittall glass. A master bathroom opens directly to the garden, a matte black freestanding bathtub positioned under a centennial olive tree.

Outdoor living is generous and layered: a teak slatted dining table for twelve on the main terrace, a pool flanked by stone retaining walls, a sunken jacuzzi, and an upper lounge with open sea views to the horizon. Lighting design by De Caldevilla Design ensures the villa reads as beautifully after dark as it does in full Mediterranean sun.

Photography documents each discipline in turn — the precision of the stonework, the quietness of the interiors, and the way the landscape holds the building within the hillside.
